Rumors a gateway to bullying

Rumors can be devastating for some people. Little things like rumors and bullying can sometimes just be too much for some teens to handle. Therefore it has led to teen suicide or other self-destructive actions. Teen suicide definitely seems to be on the rise.

From my past experience I can understand how people feel when small rumors are spread. Having a small rumor spread about you can be depressing or make you feel down. A lot of outrageous rumors were spread about me but people gave me great advice though and were very supportive. Friends and family all said just ignore the people and go on with your life. It helps to be around positive people!

But on a more serious note… bullying is becoming so serious to the point of death especially in teens (There have been many tragic loses in the area).

Most of the time hard experiences, such as self destruction and suicide just start out with little stuff. If you live in the perfect world where there is no gossip, good for you, but others can sometimes take it hard. Keep that in mind next time you decide to share personal information with others that you’re uncertain is true.

Some people don’t even mean to hurt others when they gossip; it’s understandable to be curious. The best advice I can give is to just ask the person if it is true or just forget about it.

And just because you have your opinions doesn’t mean you always have to share them. It is hard though most people just come out and say what they think about others. It’s totally natural to do that. Just make sure it doesn’t go too far. Especially when you’re talking about another person’s race or gender. It’s important to be aware of their feelings.

Just be careful what you say or do, it may hurt someone or cause problems. No bullying!
